Erling Haaland struck twice to lead Manchester City to a 3-1 win over Bournemouth, lifting Pep Guardiola’s side to second in the Premier League table.
The Norwegian punished Bournemouth’s high defensive line with two first-half goals, reaching 13 league goals for the season and 98 in just 107 Premier League appearances. Bournemouth briefly equalized through Tyler Adams after a Donnarumma error, but City quickly restored control.
Nico O’Reilly sealed victory after the break, finishing off a slick move involving Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki. Guardiola substituted Haaland late on to a standing ovation, with the striker joking afterward that “a few fantasy football managers were unhappy.”
The win, City’s sixth of the campaign, leaves them on 19 points, six behind leaders Arsenal, while Bournemouth’s fight for consistency continues under Andoni Iraola.
