Los Angeles FC star Son Heung-min has become Major League Soccer’s second-highest-paid player, earning $10.4m in salary and $11.2m in total compensation, according to new figures.
The South Korean forward joined LAFC in August after 10 years at Tottenham and quickly impressed with nine goals in 10 matches. Only Lionel Messi earns more, with $12m in salary and $20.4m in total compensation from Inter Miami.
Messi’s teammate Rodrigo De Paul earns $1.5m annually, while other top summer arrivals include Hirving “Chucky” Lozano ($7.6m total), Jonathan Bamba ($5.6m), Wilfried Zaha ($2.8m), and Thomas Müller ($1.4m).
