Arsenal fear they could be without Gabriel Magalhães for at least a month after the defender suffered a thigh injury while on international duty with Brazil. The 27-year-old limped off during Brazil’s 2-0 win over Senegal at the Emirates and has since undergone tests back in London. The club has not confirmed a timeline, but he is expected to miss several key fixtures.
Gabriel will almost certainly be unavailable for Sunday’s north London derby against Tottenham and Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich. Depending on the severity, he could also miss league games against Chelsea, Brentford, and Aston Villa, as well as the Champions League trip to Club Brugge on 10 December.
His absence is a major setback for the Premier League leaders. Gabriel has played every minute of their league campaign and is central to a defence that has conceded only five goals in 11 matches. New signings Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapié are potential replacements.
Arsenal are also dealing with other injury concerns. Viktor Gyökeres remains doubtful with a hamstring issue, while Kai Havertz has suffered a minor setback in recovering from a knee injury. Captain Martin Ødegaard, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli are also sidelined, stretching Mikel Arteta’s squad as a busy period approaches.
